It felt like some parts were really rushed, especially when the author was talking about other women who inspired her. The focus on storytelling as a therapy method was really good, and something I have always loved the idea of. That being said I found it truly fascinating, and loved the way the author managed to weave together myth, biography, and autobiography.
The story would suddenly stop or jump to a completely different story without feeling like the previous one was actually finished. I also had some issues with the narrative style, occasionally it didn’t quite flow right. I felt like it started off quite slowly but then suddenly it was zipping by. If Women Rose Rooted is an interesting book, that packs an awful lot into its pages.
